Be the hit of any car show or event with this pop culture icon. This accurate recreation of the DeLorean Time Machine made famous in the Back to the Future movie series was converted by myself over a period of several years from a stock 1981 DeLorean in excellent condition. A new house and changing priorities has forced me to sell it unfortunately. This recreation was painstakingly researched over several years and wherever possible original era parts were used. This vehicle faithfully and accurately recreates the look and feel of the original movie car. Flux capacitor actually lights up as well as the overhead console lighting. An included CO2 fire extinguisher makes up the heart of the venting smoke FX system (see video). Please see the comparison pictures to fully appreciate the level of accuracy put into this machine. It was truly a labor of love. All components are mounted securely to the car by use of screws and bolts. No chance of something falling off at freeway speeds.
It is currently 95% finished. I just don't have the time anymore. Most of what needs to be done is the dashboard area(time display,mount keypad,mount wiring harnesses). Most of the parts to complete it are included and a few other upgrade parts I never got around to replacing to make it even more accurate. Included will be several documentation pictures on a CD to help you to finish it.
In some of the pictures please note that some of the parts that have not been mounted yet are placed loosely in their general location.
Also included is an accurate "Mr. Fusion" so the car can be converted to that version as well.
Mechanical:
The car runs great. No problems starting or running and I've never had a problem with it overheating. Actual mileage is about 500 more than the odometer shows due to a few months with a broken angle drive. The steel chassis is in good shape. There are some spots of surface rust on the chassis where some of the epoxy coating has flaked off but the chassis is very solid.

Newer brakes
Stainless steel clutch lines and new clutch cylinders as of 4/02
New brake master cylinder as of 05/2005 and all brake lines flushed and refilled with new fluid
Zilla fan module
Zilla door lock module
A/C converted to R-134a
Coolant air bleeder hose kit installed
Stainless steel coolant tank
Updated relays
New fuel components (accumulator,regulator,filter,pump) and O2 sensor as of 8/02
New lower speedo cable/angle drive/adapter cup as of 5/03
New window motors as of 8/02
Included will be a folder of documentation of the previous repairs.
Issues: No major issues, the car itself runs great but there are a few little things: The fuel level gauge works intermittently at levels below 1/4 tank. It will need a new sending unit to work properly again. The A/C will need to be recharged. Toll booth windows are working fine but may need to be adjusted/aligned.
Aesthetics:
The car overall looks great. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. There are a few very small dents but they are hard to see unless you are really looking for them. The dash binnacle has a crack on the top but it will be mostly hidden by the components. A few strips of paint on the rear fascia flaked off around where the vents overlap the fascia.
Shipping:
Transportation of the vehicle is totally the buyers responsibility. I am happy to drive it to the nearest shipping terminal but you will need to arrange and pay to transport it or pick it up from it's current location. This vehicle is located in zip code 48180.
Payment:
The successful high bidder will submit a $1000 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due within 7 days of the close of the auction. Payment methods accepted are Cash in person, or Confirmed Bank Wire Transfer only.
